History
Tradition and entertainment since 1876
The first documents attesting to the existence of the Carnevale Termitano date back to the 19th century, but the tradition is belived to have even older roots.
The oldest Carnevale
Carnevale Temitano boasts the oldest official documentation in Sicily, with records attesting to its existence as early as 1876.
U Nannu ca Nanna
The undisputed symbol of the festival are "U Nannu ca Nanna", historic late 19th century masks, carefully preserved by the local community.
Allegorical floats
The majestic handcrafted allegorical floats, more and more spectacular and creative, turn the city into a travelling stage of music and joy.

A mosaic of folklore, art and fun
The Carnival officially begins with the symbolic handover the keys to U Nannu. It is the moment when the city officially opens its doors to the celebrations, welcoming everyone into the realm of joy.
Casa dei Nanni
Visit the Casa dei Nanni and join the workshop to learn the art of mask-making, enjoy the shows and taste the local food.
Live music and dj set
From today's hit to classic party tunes, live bands and Dj sets will make every corner of the city dance.
Comedy show
The stage comes alive with comedy talents, bringing laughtetr and satire in true Carnival style.
Float Parade
Led by the legendary Carro dei nanni, the giant float will parade through the crowd in an explosion of color, music and creativity.
Masked groups
